Namaste! Happy New Year! And happy POWDER DAY! It’s been snowing hard in CB for the last 24 hours and we’ve got snow on the radar for the next week straight! We couldn’t ask for a better way to kick off 2017 than with powder days for DAYS!
Of course part of yoga is to find balance, so as a yoga girl I am constantly striving to find the perfect balance between work and play, which can be a challenge in a town like this! One of my New Years resolutions is to continue working on this balance, listening to the practical Virgo voice inside that says “there will be more powder days, today is a good day to focus” and balancing THAT by also listening to the voice that says “you can do this work tonight at 6 PM ~ GO SKI TODAY!” Part of this plan entails chairlift work meetings which is an exciting perk of living in a ski town, and I would say this is the truest definition of balancing work and play. With all of this early season snow, this is turning out to be a great winter for “professional” ski bums!
I was pleasantly surprised this morning that even with six inches on the pow cam, 10 people came to my class on a powder day! It seems New Years Resolutions are in full swing! After a busy holiday week, yoga is the perfect way to reset, breathe and release the stress of the holidays. If you’re still feeling wound up then please come to class (your mind, body and spirit will thank you!)
The first week of the New Year is a great time to find a quiet moment to set your goals and intentions for the new year ahead. If one of your new year’s resolutions is to get back into your yoga practice (or just do MORE yoga)!
Wherever you are, I hope that 2017 is already turning out to be an amazing year. 17 is my favorite number, so I have a really good feeling about this year! I am sending you all good vibes, and I hope this year brings you all the blessings you deserve!
